2270 Folsom Street

Voluntary seismic retrofit and full mechanical, electrical & plumbing upgrade on an occupied three story (plus basement) 128,900 SF service center built in 1929. The multiyear project was phased in order to keep the facility operational during construction. Seismic upgrades include shotcrete shear walls, steel columns and fiberglass-reinforced wrapping around the building’s existing concrete columns. Infrastructure upgrades include new main electrical service and gear, rooftop air handler with VAV and heating hot water system complete. Energy efficiency and tenant quality of life drove the design and engineering to register the project with the USGBC for LEED scrutiny; with Platinum results. The facility was also brought to full ADA compliance.
