Building Improvements -- Elevator Shaft Abatement

Elevator Shaft Abatement & Fireproofing – San Francisco Architect: Design/Build Extensive work to encapsulate asbestos in a total of 19 elevator shafts where ACM fireproofing was failing. This work began with the development of a strategic plan to assemble scaffolding in elevator shafts under containment conditions. Fireproofing was removed from existing members, replaced with non ACM material. This work was executed while allowing 1500 employees access to all floors of the building by regularly changing elevator usage according to containment work. The project duration was 16 months with no interruption of business or any safety issues.
